On July 16, hundreds of Portland-area professionals will gather at the Lan Su Chinese Garden to connect with local nonprofit organizations and find ways that they can help support their mission.

“Physical Philanthropy is incredibly important to the success of nonprofits,” said Agnes Zach, Executive Director, Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO). “Financial donations and in-kind contributions do so much, but organizations also need volunteers, advisors, and board members. 3 Degrees is specifically designed to help make connections between professionals who want to get involved and organizations that need their support.”

Celebrating its fourth year, 3 Degrees utilizes a unique structure that encourages nonprofits and professionals to make new connections. Over the course of the evening, businesses have the opportunity to learn about the missions and activities of several local organizations. But, more importantly, they learn the myriad ways they can help support these nonprofits in their mission.

“Feedback every year for this event is overwhelmingly positive from participants,” added Zach. “People in Portland want to get out and support nonprofit organizations, but there are very few opportunities like this where you can learn about several organizations and share your unique skill set in one place.”

3 Degrees 2 Unite 1 Community is supported by Xenium HR, Capital Pacific Bank, Perkins and Co., Oregon Business Magazine, AlphaGraphics, Vibrant Table Catering, The Portland Business Alliance and the Lan Su Chinese Garden. The event is July 16, 2014, beginning at 6:30 PM. Registration is open here.
