Atmosphere: Airy with somewhat awkward feng-shui: orange-ish maroon walls broken up by brown beams in a dogleg-shaped seating area. Feels like a cross between an Italian restaurant and a Mexican joint, which the menu also reflects.
Clientele: Local families, downtown professionals and tourists. A sewing club meets here on Thursdays. Techies doing work for the Facebook and Google data centers in nearby Prineville.
Most popular: Pork carnitas with two soft corn tortillas, pico de gallo and avocado. Fajita salad and the chicken slow cooked in a green mole sauce with pumpkin seeds.
Best seat in the house: Two tables sit in glass enclaves tucked against the front door along Redmond’s prime downtown corridor offer excellent people-watching perches.
Overheard: “It’s not like she’s a real wild child yet, but they’re definitely having problems. They’ve tried time-outs and taking away toys and stuff, and she just screams even more. I think they should see someone who can help.” A 30-something man talking to a 30-something woman.
