For the fourth consecutive year, the Legal Marketing Association has named Barran Liebman’s Annual Seminar the Best Event in the Northwest. For the past four years since Barran Liebman has been nominated, the event has taken first place in the Your Honor Awards Events category, facing competition from law firms in the eight states that comprise the LMA Northwest chapter. This year, Barran Liebman was the only Oregon-based firm to win one of the 11 Your Honor Awards up for grabs.
Barran Liebman’s Annual Seminar is a four-hour complimentary event held at the Oregon Convention Center every September where Barran Liebman attorneys speak on seven different topics in Employment, Labor, Benefits and Compliance law. The firm first developed the idea 15 years ago with the goal of providing attendees with essential training and best practices to help them remain in compliance with changing regulations. It has since grown to an event attended by 800 annually, with a new, exciting theme incorporated every year which keeps the Seminar fun as well as informative. Even more, the entire seminar it is planned exclusively in-house by Barran Liebman’s marketing team and staffed entirely by the firm’s attorney and staff members – making it a truly unique and personalized event.
This year’s theme, “Barran Liebman University: Acing Employment, Labor & Benefits Law,” encompassed a college theme from the entrance, stage, costumes, music, speech titles, raffle gifts, names tags, and giveaways. Ed Harnden, Barran Liebman’s Managing Partner embraced the theme by delivering the welcome speech while wearing a Dean’s robe from his alma mater, Columbia University.
Barran Liebman’s Marketing Team, Executive Director, Traci Ray and Marketing Coordinator, Anneka Nelson, were thrilled to have the seminar recognized, but were quick to point out that they share the award with “the entire staff who volunteer at the event, the attorneys who speak and prepare speech materials, and the firm for supporting the event and making it a firm tradition.”
