Beaverton-based Schwood makes more than 125 pairs of wooden-framed sunglasses each day.

Shwood’s sales are so brisk that it hasn’t had a chance to build an inventory since its online launch in 2009.

Now it’s gaining national notice. Last month, the company won Dell’s America’s Favorite Small Business contest, and the $75,000 in prizes that came with it. More than 80 retail stores stock the sunglasses, and the company counts more than 13,000 Facebook fans. 

“I had no clue six years ago that this is what I’d be doing,” [co-founder Eric] Singer, 25, said. “As an artist, it’s hard to get a job doing what you love.”
