Bend-based Earth by Design will receive $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy.
The DOE announced today it would fund nearly $17 million in grants to support 16 hydropower projects in 11 states. The projects were selected through a competitive process for their ability to advance hydropower in terms of environmental performance, innovation, cost-effectiveness and energy-generation from resources less than 30 megawatts.
