…As plans move ahead for a large Indian casino in La Center, Washington, Bruce Studer and Matthew Rossman — and their potential investors — are looking at trying again, using the La Center operation as a political target.
If the Cowlitz Indian Tribe is successful in beating back a legal challenge to its La Center casino plan, which has already received federal approval, then the issue won’t be whether there should be a major casino near Portland, but whether gaming revenue and all that goes with it should stay in Oregon or cross the river, said Niki Terzieff, Oregon legislative director for Strategies 360, a political consulting firm hired by Studer and Rossman.
“Where do you want the money to go, where do you want the jobs to go?” Terzieff said.
