From 2000 to 2010, the rate of Oregonians owning a home dropped from 64.3 to 62.2 percent. Among those identifying as Hispanic, the rate went up from 37 to 40 percent.
“It’s something researchers have expected as a higher share of the Latino population is American-born and have been here longer,” said Charles Rynerson, a research faculty member of the Population Research Center at Portland State University.
