Portland-based ShopIgniter landed $8 million in venture capital to expand its social media storefronts.

Portland-based ShopIgniter is the latest to capitalize, landing $8 million in venture capital to help it expand its social media storefronts. The company, headquartered on Portland’s North Park Blocks, has now raised $11 million altogether — a substantial sum by Oregon standards.

Increasingly, retailers and consumer brands are turning to Facebook, Twitter and other social hubs to market their wares online. ShopIgniter’s tools create storefronts on Facebook, and gather data to help the retailers analyze who’s buying and evaluate the effectiveness of their social media marketing.
