Stanford University is dedicating its Knight Management Center, named for Phil Knight, at its School of Business Management.
Knight donated $105 million the the project, thought to be the largest donation ever to a business school.
The center, where classes have been held since January, had been under construction for three years after 10 years of planning. The complex encompasses approximately 360,000 square feet with eight buildings around three quadrangles and an 870-car underground parking structure.
Knight, who graduated from the University of Oregon in 1959, earned his MBA from Stanford in 1962. Knight has credited a small-business class taught by Frank Shallenberger with inspiring the idea that eventually led to the creation of what would become Nike, Inc.
