Oregon regulators gave conditional approval to Qwest Communications’ $22 billion sale to CenturyLink.

Oregon became the last of 14 states to sign off on the deal.

Qwest, headquartered in Denver, is the largest phone company in both Oregon and Washington. The company has about 550 Oregon employees, and 440 in Washington.

This is the Northwest’s second big telecom deal in as many years. Last year, Frontier Communications completed its acquisition of Verizon’s phone, cable and Internet operations in several western states, including Oregon and Washington.
