The Volt was voted the 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year, but won’t be released in Oregon until July at the earliest.
But Carey Bailey’s brother, who works at a dealership in California, helped his sibling acquire the Volt and had it shipped to Oregon.
Carey and Naomi Bailey said they didn’t select their $43,000 Volt on a whim. They’ve had electric cars on their radar for years, they said, but couldn’t find a model they felt matched their lifestyle.
“Everyone who walks down the street stops, and I think the entire neighborhood’s driven it,” Carey Bailey said.
