Intel has installed two new solar arrays in Hillsboro, which together generate roughly the power used by 80 homes, about 800 kilowatts of electricity.

One of the arrays is at Intel’s Jones Farm administrative campus, and the other is at the Ronler Acres manufacturing site.

They supplement an $800,000, 100 kilowatt installation that went online at Jones Farm in 2008.

In addition to the new solar power in Washington County, Intel said today that it will buy 2.5 billion kilowatt hours of renewable energy credits this year — up 75 percent from 2010.
