Crab season is set


The season usually starts on Dec. 1, but this year, concerns about quality and price slowed negotiations, leaving boats tied up until now.

Dungeness crab fishermen will head out on Friday morning to set their pots for a pre-soak period and they’ll head out late on Saturday night to start pulling pots up at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to an industry-created plan, said Nick Furman of the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission.
