The Alpine Holiday Craft Faire in Monroe moved to a larger location for its eighth year, bringing more business to local vendors.
Local crafts continue to grow in popularity around the state in synch with the buy-local phenomenon.
The location change allowed [event organizer Jeanne] Lindsay to bring in more Oregon vendors to a higher trafficked location. Last year the event allowed about 20 vendors, and this year 37 filled the gymnasium of the Monroe school.
“We try to bring in a diverse selection,” Lindsay said. “It makes for a beautiful array of items.”
The move from Alpine, a town four miles west of Monroe that claims about 150 people, brought the anticipation of more business for vendors – some of whom make a living off of selling their products at craft fairs.
