Casino backers vow return


Hours after voters soundly rejected Measure 75, the measure’s supporters said they would take another run in 2012.

The backers of a casino in Wood Village issued a news release saying they would try again to get approval for a non-tribal private casino:

“The Portland area will be getting a casino in the next few years and we believe it is better on our side of the river, paying taxes, creating jobs and providing revenue for our public schools.”
