Portland to tackle clean air problem. At least that's what Mayor Ted Wheeler said Friday after news broke the DEQ diluted regulations aimed at clamping down on polluters. Wheeler says Portland needs to remove power from the DEQ and form a local air pollution authority. Read more from the Oregonian.  

Adidas takes on Montgomery Park. The athletic giant is in the midst of a hiring spree and has now leased 80,000 square feet in Northwest Portland. The Portland Business Journal has the story.

Developers open more shelters for homeless. Three Portland developers have donated empty buildings for use as homeless shelters. Now the city is trying to form a permanent network that encourages business owners and developers to help tackle the homeless crisis. The Oregonian has more.

Meanwhile, in Redmond, a management plan for agricultural land near the city will likely force the relocation of hundreds of homeless people. The Bend Bulletin has the story.

Legislature takes aim at landlord housing fund. The Housing Choice Landlord Guarantee fund, which reimbursed landlords for damages caused by Section 8 tenants, has been subject to abuse by landlords who try and game the system. Thanks to an amendment in the 2017 session, landlords will now have to prove damages occurred and can only claim the actual repair cost. Read more from the Statesman Journal.

End of the road for controversial Troutdale waterfront complex. Eastwinds Development, owned by sauce magnate Junki Yoshida, had grand plans for the waterfront in downtown Troutdale. But the city failed to push forward, and now Eastwinds has pulled the plug on the project. The Gresham Outlook has more.
