Revolving Door
Puppet has hired two new executives as the tech company approaches $100 million in sales. These aren’t the first new hires for Puppet this year. The company also hired a president, four vice presidents and is still looking for a chief financial officer. Gary Green joins as vice president of sales and Mike Guerchon joins as vice president of human resources.
Oregon’s Department of Agriculture director Katy Coba is leaving her position of 13 years to serve as the director of the Department of Administrative Services. Coba was the first woman to hold the Ag position. She was appointed to the Administrative Services department by Gov. Kate Brown earlier this year.
Portland Commissioner Steve Novick is losing his chief of staff. Chris Warner is shifting focus to the Portland Bureau of Transportation, where he will serve as assistant bureau director. Warner is replacing Maurice Henderson, who was tapped to serve as Mayor-elect Ted Wheeler’s chief of staff.
A week after Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine announced OHSU President Joe Robertson would serve as dean, Robertson announced he had appointed John Hunter to take the role. The dean position opened after Mark Richardson died as a result of an accident earlier this month. Hunter will become the interim dean as of Oct. 1.
Intel has named Robert Swan as its new chief financial officer. Swan will replace Stacy Smith as of Oct. 10. Smith is reportedly taking on a broader role in Intel’s manufacturing, sales and operations.
Opening and Closing
Two Oregon Macy’s stores will likely avoid the national chopping block. Macy’s announced 100 stores will close early next year, but not the locations of those stores. Instead Macy’s has announced upgrades at 150 of its stores — including the Washington Square and Clackamas Town Center locations. The Pioneer Square Macy’s was not on the upgrade list.
Portland Airport Terminal D has a new tenant: Tender Loving Empire. The record label/handmade goods store first opened 10 years ago. The airport location, opening April 2017, will be its fourth.
