Google Fiber might be Portland’s mystery tenant, while SolarWorld must pay $793 million judgement.

— “Delta Office PDX” will soon take on a $1 million office renovation in the high-tech building Block 300. But as the Oregonian reports, Delta Office PDX does not exist. A Seattle architectural firm listed as the interior designer for the building said the Delta Office PDX project is listed as Google Fiber. Google Fiber had announced last week it would delay its Portland launch. Could it be that G. Fiber is in fact coming to Portland?
— SolarWorld, which has an outpost in Hillsboro, has been ordered to pay a $793 million judgement to Hemlock Semiconductor. That judgement comes with a 12% interest rate as of July 13, when the judge issued a summary judgement against SolarWorld. Hemlock sued SolarWorld in 2013 with accusations that the company broke its contract to purchase polysilicon for its solar panels. The Portland Business Journal has more.
— Supporters of the corporate tax ballot measure have published another report. This report found that the price of consumer goods would not correlate with corporate tax rates. This contradicts the argument that higher taxes are passed on to the consumer. The report examined prices of goods in different states with different corporate tax rates, which showed the similar consumer cost. The Statesman Journal has more.
— Wilsonville-based Crimson Trace has been purchased by Smith & Wesson for $95 million. Crimson Trace has been a laser sight and tactical lighting supplier for Smith & Wesson. Read more from the Portland Business Journal.
