Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and Ontario Institute for Cancer Research in Toronto joined Intel and Oregon Health & Science University’s Collaborative Cancer Cloud project.
[The two institutes] are on board with the ambitious project to share genomic, imaging and clinical data with a goal of better understanding the root causes of cancer in order to better tailor treatments to each individual.
…The Cancer Cloud marks a major advance in precision medicine, in which therapies are customized to individuals but rely on vast stores of data that must be crunched quickly. Intel and OHSU want to make precision medicine possible ”all in a day” for less than $1,000 by 2020.
