Governor Kate Brown signed the bills aimed at statewide housing affordability on Tuesday.
The signing came after the high-wire deal containing renter protections, new zoning and taxing options for cities and counties and an urban growth boundary expansion pilot project made its way through the Democratic-controlled Legislature and onto Gov. Kate Brown’s desk.
House Speaker Tina Kotek, D-Portland, worked closely with lobbyists representing homebuilders and Realtors on the pieces of the package that eventually made it across the finish line of the five-week legislative session.
