Eugene-based Silke Communications acquires new business in Northern California. L.A. investor purchases local thrift store.

Silke Communications acquires 13 cellular phone sites in two Northern California counties.

The sites in west Marin and west Sonoma counties, north of San Francisco, are comprised of cellular communications transmitting and receiving equipment located on utility poles or other tall structures, such as roofs of buildings, said President Jim Silke Jr.

The deal closed earlier this month. Silke declined to name the seller or disclose the purchase price.

L.A. investor William Chui bought a building on River Road that was leased to a thrift store tied to drug rehabilitation programs.

Attempts to reach Chui Thursday were unsuccessful.

Chui has no plans to change the building’s use, Teen Challenge Thrift Store Assistant Manager Dera Rainwater said.
