Advocates are calling the local zoning option, known as inclusionary zoning, one tool for addressing the climbing demand for housing across all income levels that hasn’t been met by supply. Cities have been banned from creating inclusionary zoning since 1999.
…Rep. Knute Buehler, R-Bend, along with Sen. Chris Edwards, D-Eugene, and homebuilder groups, continued their push to highlight the limited supply of affordable land for housing as a driving factor for rising housing prices. They want to see changes to the state land use laws that seek to prevent urban sprawl.

The Portland City Council will consider relocating the camp — commonly known as R2DToo — from its current location at Northwest Fourth Avenue and Burnside Street to a city-owned gravel lot at Southeast Third Avenue and Harrison Street at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.
