2015 Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business Awards Dinner is June 17th

$10,000 of higher education scholarships to be awarded

PORTLAND – Jim Bernau, Founder, Willamette Valley Vineyards, along with nine finalist organizations, highlight the 2015 Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business Awards dinner at the Portland Art Museum on June 17th. Nina Mehlhaf, weekend anchor for KGW TV will act as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. “This is the 13th year of the Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business Awards Dinner in partnership with the Rotary Club of Portland and Rotary clubs across the state, and I believe will be our best ever,” said Dick Clark, Chairman of the Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business Committee and Chief Executive Officer of The Portland Clinic. “The event will sell out again which speaks to the relevancy of ethical business practice in our society and our opportunity to celebrate and recognize those Oregon companies and organizations doing it the right way.”

$10,000 in higher education scholarships will be awarded as well to five students, representing each of the five congressional districts in Oregon. The five students will receive $2,000 each provided to Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business through a grant from the Portland Charitable Trust.

The Rotary Oregon Ethics in Business Awards honor those organizations and individuals who have demonstrated ethical business practice in its broadest interpretation: In the workplace, the marketplace, the environment, and the community. The recipients of these awards will have, by act and example, gone beyond the expected to achieve excellence in ethical business practices. This year there are nine finalists in the following categories:

Large business

King Cycle Group, Portland; New System Laundry, Portland; Touchmark, Beaverton

Small Business

Inn at Seaside, Seaside; SheerID, Eugene; Schommer & Sons, Portland

Non-Profit Organizations

Lifeworks NW, Portland; Raphael House, Portland; Volunteers of America Oregon
