University and college tuition fees have been rising for more than a decade, while state funds for higher education have steadily declined. In fact, public universities nowadays receive such a small portion of their revenues from the state that it is almost disingenuous to call them public universities. Universities located in the state of Oregon might be a more appropriate description. With student debt growing, colleges and universities are under more pressure than ever to wring efficiencies out of their operations. Here is a snapshot of how funds are distributed at a handful of Oregon colleges and universities.
