Portland’s nonprofit organizations are always looking for new volunteers, donors and board members. Many business professionals want to give back to their community, but aren’t sure where to start or where they might be a fit. At the same time, nonprofit organizations are constantly in need of vendors and business partners. Finding organizations that fit their mission can be a challenge.

3 Degrees 2 Unite 1 Community brings these two groups together in a relaxing evening against the gorgeous backdrop of the Lan Su Chinese Garden.

At 3 Degrees, participants are pre-matched to three other guests via their mutual connections. Through the evening of mixing and mingling, participants find their matches and sort out how they’re connected.

Because there is an existing relationship, it’s easy to strike up a professional relationship.

“Every year the feedback we get on 3 Degrees is just phenomenal,” said Agnes Zach, Executive Director, Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO). “Typically, networking events are about making connections that might translate into some sort of working relationship. At 3 Degrees, everyone is there looking to donate their time or resources or find vendors with which to work. It’s a very focused and productive evening all around.”
