The Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) is pleased to announce 15 finalists — from over 180 nominees — for the 2017 OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Company Awards.

The OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards honor the skill and the courage that it takes for entrepreneurs to create a business out of an idea. The event is intended to not only celebrate entrepreneurs, but to highlight their importance to the region’s economy.

The winner from each category will be announced on October 25, 2017 during its Awards Dinner at the Oregon Convention Center. In addition to the finalists below, OEN will be honoring a game-changing social enterprise for our Game Changer Award and a young, up-and-coming entrepreneur for our Wyatt Starnes Battle of the Schools Award.

Entrepreneurial Achievement Award – Our Entrepreneurial Achievement Award recognizes an entrepreneur or founding team with a record of outstanding achievement in the last 18 months. We’re looking for people or teams who: demonstrate tenacity, passion, and grit; recognize, and capitalize on, opportunity; positively impact the communities in which they operate; and actively support our entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The finalists are:

Chris & Sadie Lincoln, barre3 – barre3 is a boutique movement company whose innovative, results-driven, feel-good wowhole-body-health approach are breaking new ground. In addition to more than 100 studios around the globe and 250+ do-anywhere online workouts, barre3 offers hundreds of delicious, whole-foods-based recipes, a thriving digital magazine, and an annual retreat. Since opening their first studio in 2008, Chris and Sadie have worked with a growing team of experts, establishing themselves as thought leaders when it comes to discovering body wisdom, finding joy in movement, and achieving results without pain.

Allie Magyar, Hubb – Allie is serial entrepreneur and technology maven with over 15 years’ experience driving technology enabled service companies. As President and CEO of Dynamic Events for over a decade, Allie traveled around the world producing events for some of the biggest names in technology. Seeing the need for a tool to organize and manage the events she and her team were producing, she created Hubb in 2012 and rolled it out to the wider world in 2015. In 2016, Allie helped Hubb raise $4 million in venture funding and win the Bend Venture and Seattle Angel conferences. Allie is CMP certified, a member of Vistage, a two-time Inc. 5000 award winner, and was also listed as one of the 2013 Collaborate 40 under 40 in the meetings industry.

Justin Rigling & Ben Corrado, Rigado – Ben and Justin co-founded Rigado in 2010. Ben currently serves as CEO and previously ran engineering design teams at Garmin and Andrews-Cooper Technology. Justin serves as CTO and was a design engineer at Garmin International. He specializes in low-power wireless systems, and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT. Fun fact: In 2004, Ben and Justin set the world record for longest wifi connection: 124 miles.

Shannon Keith, Sudara – A trip to India in 2005 inspired Shannon to take action and begin an innovative business venture. Her drive to create lasting impact for sex-trafficking survivors led her to found Sudara, a thriving benefit corporation committed to job creation for women in India. Sudara products support training for the women who make them. They also help to fund the nonprofit arm that allows the organization to provide for those same women across their entire ecosystem. More than a give-back model, her organization enables women to have freedom-filled choices for themselves and for their families. Shannon was awarded the 2017 Bend Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Company Awards
Our Company Awards recognize businesses in the startup, development, and growth stages that address compelling market problems; deliver consistent growth; have scalable business models; know their niche and clearly differentiate from their competitors; and have founders and/or teams who demonstrate tenacity, passion, and vision.

The finalists are as follows:

Startup Stage Company Award – “Oregon’s Hottest Garage Venture.” Honoring a company with projected revenue for the current year of less than $0.5 million.

360e – 360e is a CRM for the construction industry that focuses on smaller to medium size businesses that cant afford a larger software like Viewpoint or Salesforce. 360e is a client database, quoting, scheduling, tracking and billing all in one easy to use, intuitive package.

AbSci – AbSci has developed a proprietary bioengineered E. coli expression system, SoluPro™, which allows for easily optimizable and scalable production of next-generation pharmaceutical therapies. Our game-changing core technology allows protein-based drugs such as insulin to be produced at a fraction of their current cost, without any corresponding loss in performance characteristics.

Evelyn & Bobbie – Evelyn & Bobbie, is a woman-led company full of data driven designers and engineers. They have created the the Everyday Bustier, using new technologies and the most innovative materials to provide an unparalleled bra experience for women. In a constantly changing world, women’s bras have yet to see that change, but with their completely revolutionized design, their Everyday Bustier will provide seamless comfort and confidence for women.

Development Stage Company Award – “Oregon’s Next Business Home Run.” Honoring a company with past-year revenue of at least $0.5 million and projected revenue for the current year of $0.5-$8 million.

Bright.md – Bright.md’s SmartExam software is a transformational AI-based “virtual physician’s assistant” that automates up to 90% of provider time. With SmartExam, diagnosis, treatment, and documentation by the patient’s doctor is now 10x more efficient and lower cost than any other care modality; each visit now take less than 2 minutes of provider time (compared to the 20 needed for in-person or video), and it’s all done from a personal computer or mobile device. And, because we license our cloud-based SaaS platform to major health systems, SmartExam patients get convenient, high quality, online care from the established, trusted health system providers they already know and trust.

Hubb – Event management is notoriously time consuming and stressful; for the second year in a row, event coordinator was named the 5th most stressful job in America. Hubb brings order to the chaos of event content management, the most time-consuming aspect of event management, for meetings and conferences. Our flagship cloud-based software platform uses simple, automated workflows to streamline collecting, managing and marketing of all event content from speakers to sessions to sponsors.

Mirth Provisions – For many cannabis consumers, and casual consumers in particular, smoking or vaping has a stigma associated with it. Many also find the smoke or vapor inconsistent with a healthy lifestyle. More socially acceptable, like alcohol, Mirth Provisions produces the Legal™ brand of beverages which provides a familiar way to enjoy a distinct and consistent cannabis experience as an all natural beverage. Drift™ Sublingual Spray addresses these same concerns with a variety of smokeless, fast acting, able to use “on the go”, oral sprays.

RADAR, Inc. – High-profile data breaches and security threats are on the rise. One of the biggest challenges is determining if incidents involving sensitive data meet the legal definition of a data breach requiring notification and other actions. Enter RADAR , a first-to-market SaaS incident response management platform focused on addressing the complex regulatory requirements imposed by data breach notification laws. RADAR helps companies reduce risk and simplify compliance, and is helping to define the new category of data incident response management.

Growth Stage Company Award – “Oregon’s Next Household Name.” Honoring a company with past-year revenue of at least $8 million and projected revenue for the current year of over $8 million.

Cloudability – Cloudability specializes in cloud management tools that enable companies to manage cloud spending across departments, products and infrastructure. Designed for businesses running on public cloud services like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, Cloudability gives companies the tools to track spending and gain the flexibility of the cloud without unnecessary or hidden costs. Cloudability ’s cost reporting tools provide businesses like General Electric, Uber and Atlassian with granular visibility into all cloud usage and costs.

DWFritz Automation – We design and build custom automation equipment for advanced manufacturing.  When companies, mostly Fortune 500, need to automate a process, but can’t find the equipment off-the-shelf, they come to us to engineer and manufacture the precise piece of equipment they need.  Our niche is high precision automation, usually processes that humans cannot do.

Vacasa – Vacasa , the second-largest U.S. vacation rental company, provides full service short-term rental management. From housekeeping to marketing, Vacasa takes on every aspect of the rental process for vacation home owners., Guests are able to instantly book stays in over 5,200 unique properties across the U.S. and in 10 countries. In a fragmented industry where services vary, Vacasa builds trust by offering consistency. The vacation rental industry has become crowded since Vacasa ’s 2009 founding, but its full service capabilities, powered by proprietary technology, continue to distinguish Vacasa.

ZincFive – ZincFive , Inc. manufactures disruptive nickel-zinc batteries and associated uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for mission critical applications like intelligent transportation, data centers and automotive. By pairing nickel-zinc battery chemistry with intelligent battery operating systems, ZincFive is revolutionizing the traffic market with systems that are significantly safer to operate, have reduced installation, operating and maintenance expenses, and have enviable environmental and recycling characteristics. The nickel-zinc chemistry has over 100 issued and pending patents with over $90MM invested to achieve this level of protection.
