    I am the Directors of Operations here at Garrison's Home. I could not be more proud to be an employee of Brian Garrison's. Having been a part of this company for 14 years now, it has been amazing to see the development and growth we have accomplished. We have created a customer service-based company that just happens to sell furniture. We have a 4.9 positive rating on Google.

    We have incredibly comprehensive insurance for the size of our company. We offer two tiers of health insurance, dental, vision, a simple IRA with a 3% match, and a flexible spending account. We also have tuition reimbursement, AFLAC, life insurance, and a dependent care account. Employees are benefit-eligible the first of the month following 60 days and can contribute to the IRA after earning only $5,000, and the match is immediately vested. Brian doesn't hesitate to provide training and education to develop employees, not only for the business, but to better themselves.

    During the last several years, we have donated to many wonderful charities, including Dunn House, Community Works, Redemption Ridge, and Grace House. We also have a Garrison's Gives Back promotion during the holiday season, in which we donate food to Access Food Share. In 2017, we donated 1700 pounds of food to needy families in our community.

    Our average wage is around $20/hr., and all but two employees are full-time. Employees get two regular days off per week with a regular schedule, and our warehouse staff have the option of working four 10-hour shifts per week.

    While the work can be challenging, the focus on teamwork makes it not seem like work at all. Brian makes sure that staff, and their families, are appreciated. Last year he took the entire staff, and their guests, on a Hellgate Jetboat trip. This year he has rented out the entire Family Fun Center in Central Point for staff and their families. For Christmas, it is a catered dinner, drinks, a personalized holiday card with a $100 American Express gift card, awards, and a celebration of successes for the previous year. Staff are frequently treated to lunches, barbecues, and Dutch Bros. coffee. We celebrate birthdays with cake, a card signed by co-workers, and a gift card of the employee's choice. Employees with good customer feedback are entered into a quarterly drawing for $100 gift cards. And sales staff are frequently challenged to hit their goals, with the ability earn bonuses and additional prizes. We also offer incentive programs for the delivery crews, the service department, and the leadership team.

    We have a partnership with Southern Oregon Goodwill in which we have had the pleasure to provide work experiences for Goodwill clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. After one such work experience, one client became a direct hire at our main store. Our current work experience placement in the warehouse is almost completely non-verbal. This has been a phenomenal opportunity for staff to provide compassion and understanding. We are proud to provide a great client experience, making them feel like part of our team. Several Goodwill staff have commented that Garrison's is the most supportive employer they work with. Our staff have grown from the experiences as much as the clients have.

    In 2019, we will be increasing our capacity to serve the community through the creation of the Garrison's Foundation. We will be building a volunteer program for staff that will allow them to be involved in creating community charity events that will allow us to give back to the community in an even bigger way. We plan to create employee and community scholarships as well as specific giving campaigns for deserving charities.

    Brian has created a business that has experienced growth year after year since the doors opened, even during sweeping economic downturns. We have grown from one store to four, and have expanded our warehouse to more than double its size. Because of how the business is operated, and the growth we have experienced, Brian will not only be able to send his own kids to college, but his staff will be able to send theirs as well. Customers have a lot of choice when it comes to purchasing furniture and mattresses in Southern Oregon. But they come back to Garrison's because of the positive employees who love their job and provide excellent customer service from sales to delivery.
