The Open Source software movement has descended on Portland for its annual Open Source Convention, OSCON. The convention celebrates the evolving impact of open source software on business, development, technology, and society in general.
What does the movement mean for businesses? Well, as the event states, in its early days, the convention was attempting to change mainstream business methods. Now however, as the movement has become more mainstream, OSCON "is about how the close partnership between business and the open source community is building the future. That future is everywhere you look."
Here are 6 posts from day one of the convention, which will run through July 26 at the Convention Center.
