When I heard over the weekend that Portland-based startup Vidoop apparently was shutting its doors, first reported by TechCrunch and then picked up by Silicon Florist’s Rick Turoczy, the first thing I thought was, “Damn, there goes the Next feature for July.” Robin Doussard is Editor of Oregon Business. www.twitter.com/robindoussard

BrowserMob
written by Patrick Lightbody , May 31, 2009 11:47:21 pm PDT Would love to share what BrowserMob is up to. It's a very early stage company (less than 6 months old) but is highly profitable and doing some really cool things with Amazon's cloud computing platform. Feel free to call me if you're interested: 415-830-5488. I'm normally located right downtown @ NedSpace, but I'm in the bay drumming up VC money at the moment. report abuse

JanRain
written by Michael , June 01, 2009 1:57:54 pm PDT Robin: JanRain is also involved in the identity space and has been at the forefront of the OpenID movement for the last four years. We operate myOpenID, a popular OpenID provisioning service, and our RPX offering (http://rpxnow.com) is a platform solution that allows websites to accept sign-ins from major providers like Facebook, Google, Yahoo, MySpace, AOL, Windows Live ID, Twitter, and all other OpenID providers. It has seen strong adoption since introduction in 2008. We would welcome the opportunity to share our insights about third party authentication and why Portland is still a vibrant hub in the identity community. report abuse

FMYI
written by Justin Yuen , June 01, 2009 5:21:37 pm PDT Robin, Too bad about Vidoop - we had considered integrating their tool because of our connection to Scott. Just wanted to mention FMYI [for my innovation]. We're bringing together two passions of ours - social media and sustainability. Our mission is to empower teams to make a difference by combining the power of social networking with tools to integrate sustainability at work. Let me know if you want to learn more. Congrats on the event tonight - it's an important one for the sustainability community and beyond! I'll be seeing Susan Sokol Blosser later this evening at another meeting. Best, -Justin http://www.fmyi.com http://www.twitter.com/jyuen http://www.linkedin.com/in/justinyuen report abuse
