Oregon Business magazine readers elect Saxton for governor

A majority of Oregon Business magazine readers polled in the October issue says that if the election were held today, they would elect Republican Ron Saxton for governor.

The Input poll found that 45% of readers would elect Saxton, 36% would vote for Gov. Ted Kulongoski and 13% are undecided. The remainder would vote for the minor party candidates.

Readers also voted down the controversial Measure 48, which calls for limits to state spending.

The respondents, which are primarily CEOs, business leaders and owners, say their mood has also turned more pessimistic: only 34% of respondents said they felt things are headed in the right direction; 40% said things were on the wrong track.

Also in the October issue, Saxton and Kulongoski reveal their plans for tax reform, business growth and education.
