100 Best Companies to be announced March 1st

Portland, OR–The thirteenth annual 100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon list is complete, and the results will be announced on March 1st at the Oregon Convention Center. A record number of companies and employees participated in this year’s survey, which analyzes Oregon companies’ best practices toward creating great places to work.

"Making the 100 Best List means a great deal to companies statewide," says Oregon Business Editor Robin Doussard. “This year’s record participation really demonstrates the commitment to workplace excellence.”

The 100 Best list recognizes 50 large (with more than 250 employees) and 50 small companies for excellence in attraction, retention and rewards; work environment; decision-making and trust; performance management; and career development and learning. The list will revealed at the awards banquet and published in the March 2007 issue of Oregon Business.

The banquet’s keynote speaker is Jennifer Robin of the Great Place to Work Institute, the research and consulting firm that produces Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in America. Ms. Robin is a consultant specializing in leadership, motivation, organizational culture and development, and is the co-author of A Life in Balance: Finding Meaning in a Chaotic World, which examines ways professionals find balance in their work and personal lives.

The Oregon Business 100 Best Companies to Work for survey

Oregon Business has conducted the annual study of best practices for the last 13 years. The survey has two parts — a satisfaction survey completed by employees and a benefits survey completed by management. Rankings are derived from scores of both parts of the survey.

“The best companies in Oregon are truly setting the standard for the rest, and it’s a great opportunity to be part of celebrating their achievement,” concludes Doussard.
