The MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition was held at Portland State University Saturday, featuring prosthetic arms designed by middle and high school students from around the country. A few days later OB hosted Oregon MESA executive director David Coronado, Board chair David Squire and Rachel Brunette of the Lemelson Foundation in a roundtable discussion about the Oregon Mesa Program. The group talked about how MESA is driving education success for underserved students and helping fuel business and economic growth and why engineering requires more empathy than you think.
