Intel CEO search enters 22nd week

Intel is still looking for a replacement for CEO Paul Otellini 22 weeks after news of his impending retirement in May.

That's unnerved some investors and analysts, who note that Intel is facing some urgent challenges. PC sales are flat, and the company hasn't had any meaningful success breaking into the exploding market for mobile chips.

Intel appears to be contemplating turning over a significant portion of its factories to make chips using other companies' designs. And it's preparing its biggest foray ever into consumer electronics, readying its own set-top box to challenge the cable TV operators.
