Oregon's underemployment 4th worst in U.S.

Oregon's underemployment is the 4th worst in the U.S., at 17.2% in 2012.

Federal officials track the so-called U-6 rate, which not only counts unemployed workers, but also those stuck in part-time jobs and others who haven't looked for work recently, including some who became discouraged and stopped looking.

Oregon ranks No. 4, better than Nevada and California, but just behind Washington, which rounds out the bottom five. Rhode Island, at No. 3, is the lone state away from the West Coast.
