Construction on Beaverton's Cedar Hills Crossing is expected to create 300 new jobs.

The idea has been in the works for a while. Industry experts said it's an indication that retail continues to recover in this economy.

The latest trends show that retailers are looking for less square footage overall, with fewer big box stores.

The retail space will include a mix of services, restaurants and traditional stores.
