Portland visitor attractions going compostable

The Oregon Convention Center, Portland Expo Center and Portland Center for Performing Arts are all switching to compostable cups for onsite concessions.

The strategy eliminates some 80,000 plastic-lined beverage holders at the three facilities, which are managed by the regional government agency Metro.

The facilities’ move comes three years after the Rose Garden enacted a comprehensive program that includes widespread materials composting.
