Dalai Lama's Eugene visit sells out

Tickets to see the Dalai Lama's May 10 lecture at the University of Oregon sold out in only about 25 minutes.

That’s comparable to how quickly tickets sold for Elton John’s performance there in February 2011, [UO spokesman Phil Weiler] said.

In all, close to 11,000 people will be able to attend the Dalai Lama’s first-ever appearance in Eugene. Some additional seating will be erected behind the stage to increase capacity, Weiler said.
