Three bills in the Oregon legislature are being branded as an all-out war on mining by the Bohemia Mine Owners Association.

Supporters of the bills as advanced by state Sen. Alan Bates, D-Medford, argue the measures are designed to protect rivers and fish habitat.

    Reminds me of the ole "spotted owl" problem that blamed the logging industry and took so many jobs (let alone shut down the mills), when low and behold it was another bird species that was the true cause!

    True miners leave things better for the environment than when they arrived!
