University of Oregon is the eighth-highest Peace Corps volunteer-producing campus out of the largest universities in the U.S.

In the past two years, the UO leapfrogged the University of North Carolina, the University of Michigan and the University of Arizona to claim its current ranking.

“Most times when I ask: What interested you in Peace Corps? Almost always, ‘It’s somebody told me about their experience and it sounded amazing,’ ” UO-based Peace Corps recruiter Hannah Klausman said. “That’s what always gets people jazzed.”

Bioscience complex will house six local companies in 2013

From Oregon Translational Research and Development Institute: OTRADI today announced its plans to open and operate a 13,000 square-foot multi-tenant bioscience complex in the Willamette Wharf building at 4640 SW Macadam Avenue.
