Texas-based Pinnacle Propane plans to spend $2 million to open a multistage propane-tank facility in Goshen, creating 36 Lane County jobs.

“We’re in the propane grill cylinder exchange business. We’re the third-largest exchange company in the U.S.,” said Marty Baker, vice president of operations. “We service 43 states, and we want to have a nationwide presence in 2013.”

The company is growing at 20 to 25 percent a year, he said.

The 16,000-square-foot Goshen facility will take in empty propane tanks, inspect them, scrap them if they are no longer safe, and wash, repaint and refill the safe ones, then put them back into service, Baker said.
