Daimler Trucks North America is warning workers of a potential layoff across manufacturing sites.
A spokesman for the heavy–duty truck maker said it would offer more details Thursday as it complies with federal reporting standards. An estimated 1,000 work at its Swan Island factory and another 1,800 at its Portland- based headquarters.
The news arrives just more than a year after Daimler announced plans to hire at least 1,500 workers at its U.S. factories, which churn out Freightliner and Western Star trucks.
