Organic food store coming to Salem

The quickly-growing organic foods retailer Natural Grocers plans to open a Salem store by June. The company currently has 60 stores in 12 states.

Natural Grocers, based in Lakewood, Colo., became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012. This year, it plans to open a dozen new stores and remodel three existing locations, according to its fiscal year end report.

The Salem store, and a store planned for Medford, are Natural Grocers’ first forays into Oregon.
