Oregon among states with stable finances

Oregon is listed among the states with stable tax collections and government spending in a new national survey.

But the survey released today by the National Conference of State Legislatures also lists Oregon among the states reporting weaker recoveries from the Great Recession than in the aftermath of past downturns.

“State finances are improving at a slow and steady pace,” said Arturo Perez, fiscal affairs program director for the organization. “Revenues are moving in the right direction. Spending has been stable, confined to what states have budgeted for the most part.”
