Portland General Electric received bids for 39 new renewable energy projects.

The Portland-based electric utility announced last month that it's looking for around just 100 megawatts of new renewable power resources — enough to serve more than 83,000 typical residential customers — to help comply with Oregon's renewable energy standard.

The company received 64 bids by the Nov. 13 deadline representing 39 projects. The number of bids is greater because some developers issued multiple, but varying bids for the same project. A wind farm developer, for example, may submit one bid to sell the entire wind farm and another to sell just a portion.

A majority of the bids are based on wind power, though other technologies, including biomass, biogas, hydro, and solar power, are also involved, PGE said.
