Marijuana legalization supporters in Oregon are hopeful despite Measure 80's failure.

“We’re disappointed, of course, but we’ve shown that we have a large segment of the population that believes marijuana should be legal and treated like a legitimate market in Oregon,” said Portland resident Paul Stanford, the measure’s chief backer.

Updated numbers released Wednesday afternoon by state elections officials showed that 45.55 percent of state voters supported Measure 80.
