Oregon nonprofit SMART celebrated giving out 2 million books to Oregon children over the last two decades.

The nonprofit seeks volunteers to read one-on-one with children around the state.

Research shows that children who grow up with books in the home reach higher levels of education, according to a 20-year study by the University of Nevada.
