Brammo CEO wants Oregon to market green expertise

Brammo CEO Craig Bramscher says Oregon should market its green brand around the world.

"When I tell people I'm based in Oregon, people seem to think it's obvious. 'Of course, that's where all the green technology is.'"

"Our brand is even better than we are today," Bramscher said of his home state.

But he added that there's a ripe opportunity for the state to take its green and sustainable reputation and burnish the brand even brighter.

Five years in the making, the Portland Mercado — the city’s first Latino public market — will celebrate its grand opening April 11. A $3.5 million public-private partnership spearheaded by Hacienda CDC, the market will house 15 to 20 businesses in the food, retail and service sectors. It has some big-name funders, including the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and JPMorgan Chase. The project goals are equally ambitious: to improve cross-cultural understanding, alleviate poverty and spur community economic development.
