SolarWorld, Fortune executives support Hillsboro

SolarWorld USA president Gordon Brinser and Fortune Data Centers CFO Bruce MacLean expressed appreciation for Hillsboro's business-friendly climate.

The two executives cited the city’s preference of saying ‘yes’ rather than ‘no’ to business challenges as a huge difference from other cities. “They try hard to find a reason to say yes to you,” Brinser said.

The two leaders toil in different trades, but they shared a common experience of welcoming, bend-over-backwards style governance from city officials. They swapped horror stories of other municipalities. MacLean, whose company is based in San Jose, said Hillsboro accomplishes “in less than 48 hours” what would take 6 months in California.
