Eugene-based Harry Ritchie's Jewelers is closing 10 stores in three western states.
Seventeen stores will remain open, including the one at Valley River Center in Eugene, said Erik Parrish, director of finance for the family-owned company.
“The retail landscape has been changing over the last several years,” Parrish said. “Customers’ shopping (habits) have changed, people are doing more online shopping, more boutique stores. We got to a point where we needed to reorganize in a smart and strategic way to get through the economic downturn and be a really strong company.”
