The Portland Streetcar will open its new Central Loop line to the public this weekend.

The line...will connect to the streetcar’s current line (now titled the North/South line) in the Pearl District and will have stops in the Rose Quarter, Lloyd District, the Central Eastside Industrial District and OMSI.

The $148 million project is expected to improve transportation accessibility and spur development in certain areas of the city’s eastside, according to city officials.

Bioscience complex will house six local companies in 2013
